Laden was one of the last persons to see dancehall artist Delus alive last week Wednesday before his untimely death.
In his way of grieving, Laden has released a tribute single to his fallen friend, who he also referred to as his brother. The single “See You Again (Delus)” was produced by Konsequence Muzik.
Delus, born Delmark Spence, committed suicide on June 22 at his home. Laden recalled seeing him just minutes before the incident.
“I did the song because of our friendship,” the deejay said. “We were close over the past few weeks. Every Sunday, we went to play football. He also lived across from Big Ship studios, which is my musical home and base.”
“I was celebrating my birthday and I told Delus I was going to get some liquor. It was when I returned that I got the news about what happened. I saw everybody at the gate in shock. I had to go buss a bawl inna mi room.”
Since his death tributes have been pouring out on social media from both fans and fellow artists. Konshens, who is currently on tour overseas, also wrote a heartfelt message on his Instagram page.
