Reggae Reacts To Jimmy Riley Death

The reggae community is reacting to the death of legendary singer Jimmy Riley, who is the father of singer Tarrus Riley.

The elder Riley died on Wednesday morning in the hospital following a long battle with cancer. He was 61 at the time of his death.

Several reggae/dancehall artists has since expressed their sadness on social media including Maxi Priest, Mr. Vegas, Konshens,

Rastafari Love and blessings,” Maxi Priest wrote. “No words can ease the pain on the loss of the legendary Jimmy Riley, who has passed away. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, fans, and the music fraternity. To my bredren Tarrus Riley, know this King…that your father’s soul is eternally sealed with the Almighty, in His house. His music, joy, love, memories, and happiness, will live in your hearts forever. Lift up your head and praise Jah! As Mr. Riley is already in paradise! Jah Rastafari love and blessings King. Tarrus Riley also expressed his thanks for the many condolences sent his way by fans and friends.
