Sean Paul says that his career was mostly influenced by the likes of Super Cat and Spragga Benz.
The dancehall icon recently sat down with Hot 97 radio hosts Ebro and Peter Rosenberg where he opened up about who influenced his career, new music coming from out of Jamaica and Vybz Kartel incarceration.
“Definitely Super Cat when I use to imitate even Shabba, people in school use to say you sound like Cat,” SP said. “So that was just a natural tone on my voice and I kind of start to develop it more.”
“People like Spragga Benz big up to him too he is in the district here New York you know he is also one of my influence, so I got a lot of influence but I know I sound like Cat,” the deejay added.
Weighing in on Vybz Kartel incarceration, Sean Paul says that he hasn’t been hearing anything about his case, but definitely hearing a lot of songs.
Sean Paul looks tired but beautiful.
Shhhhh Paul, don’t go telling everyone too loudly that Kartel pops out a song every few days – you’ll ruin it for everyone who listens to dancehall
