We all remember too well the 2009 MTV VMAs when Kanye West blew it over Taylor Swift win.
Jay Z and Beyonce panicked when they saw Kanye West got up out his seat and started walking towards the stage. But they breathed a sigh of relief when they realized it was all a joke.
During an interview with E! News after the Grammys at the Staples Center. Kanye West let his grouses be known that Beyonce should have won the award.
“I don’t know what he said, all I know is if the Grammys want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us,” Kanye West rant. “We ain’t gonna play with them no more. ‘Flawless,’ Beyoncé video. Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé, and at this point, we tired of it.”
“Because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration and we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place,” Yeezy added.
Beck says he still got love for Kanye West despite his rant.
Kanye West also made peace with Taylor Swift at the Grammy and posed with the pop star for a photo.
TMZ caught up with Kanye West on Monday as he arrived in New York City and Ye clarifies his statement.
“I wasn’t saying Beck; I said the Grammys. Beck knows that Beyoncé should have won; you know that,” Kanye West said.
“Come on, man. I love Beck! But he didn’t have the Album of the Year,” West said when asked if Sunday was the first time he was hearing about Beck.
