Vybz Kartel is back in court today for day 31 of his high profile murder trial in the Home Circuit court.
The aced dancehall star and his co-accused Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams are all on trial for the alleged murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
Police say Williams was killed on August 16, 2011 at a house in Havendale over a missing firearm.
Last week, Joseph Simmonds, who is Digicel’s Group Business Risk Director, took the witness stand. Under cross-examination by Vybz Kartel’s lead attorney Tom Tavares-Finson, Simmonds told the court that he could not determine if any of the 40 cellphones belong to Vybz Kartel or the accused men.
Simmonds also told the court that he had prepared a statement and gave to police along with two compact discs of data from the 40 cellphone numbers. One of those disc were entered into evidence last week. However, lead prosecutor Jeremy Taylor told the court that they lost the other disc.
The trial continues today.
