Soca Star Machel Montano Sentencing Postponed

Machel Montano got a few days of breathing space when his sentencing was pushed back to January 25th.

A Magistrate judge deferred the soca star’s sentencing on Thursday when he appeared in court in Trinidad and Tobago.

Machel Montano Guilty On Assault Charges

Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor handed down the ruling in front a jam packed court which include celebrity friends of Montano.

Machel Montano was found guilty late last year on several counts of assaulting Russel Pollonais, Brandis Brown, Janelle Lee Chee and Gerard Bowrin.

According to T&T law enforcement, the charges stemmed from a brawl outside a Port of Spain nightclub on April 26, 2007.

The soca veteran has a number of upcoming performances including his own show on February 4th and also appearances at Carnival 2013.
