Reggae singer Jah Cure teamed with the late rap legend 2Pac on a new single “All By Myself,” off his upcoming album World Cry.
The track features a verse from Tupac’s classic single “Thugs Get Lonely.”
“Tupac was one of my favourite artistes before I even knew I was gonna have the opportunity to collaborate with him. Millions to Tupac fans will hear this song, and combined with my fans, this is going to be a hit song for my album given the great response on my Twitter, and Facebook so far … everyone loves it,” Jah Cure said in a recent interview.
Cure said the song came about through his friendship with Poo Bear who is a popular producer for the likes of Kelly Rowland, Lupe Fiasco, Usher and more.
“This song came about through my contacts in the US who had a track with Tupac. I am good friends with the musician Poo Bear, who is known for production with Usher, Lupe Fiasco, Kelly Rowland and other superstars, and who helped me write a few lines around this song. I believe it is a good fit, remember that Tupac went to prison too, he understands the struggle and he is the Marley of his art form, so it was an authentic collaboration,” Jah Cure revealed.
