Rap veteran MC Hammer has decided to keep things moving and end his two-month beef with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.
Hammer said Jay’s “So Appalled” bankruptcy reference has been addressed and is no longer an issue for him.
“As a responsible veteran of twenty something years of this [Hip-Hop]. I can’t leave it out there with tensions,” MC Hammer said in an interview. “I am reading comments on both sides, it’s not about that, I have seen all of that before. There is an opportunity to say at some point. We onto the next thing. You know, Jay took his shot and I answered. Now let’s move on.” (All Hip Hop)
Hammer also tweeted his 1.9 million Twitter followers about the beef coming to an end.
“Re- Mix time !!! 7 Days is enough. I’m Accepting Jay Z at his “Word” and moving on. I made my point. #KingHammer”,” he tweeted yesterday (November 10). (MC Hammer’s Twitter)
On Kanye West‘s “So Appalled” collaboration, Jay references Hammer’s fall from fame and publicized bankruptcy woes despite being a platinum-selling artist in the early 1990’s.
“And Hammer went broke so you know I’m more focused/ I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30/Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can’t hurt me.”
