The Weeknd Killed His Old Self In “Starboy” Music Video

The Weeknd premieres the video for his new single “Starboy” a cut off his upcoming album, due in November.

The track also saw Daft Punk making a guest appearance. The Grant Singer-directed cut starts out with a mask man kidnapping and killing Abel while he was still wearing his trademark free from dreadlocks. The clip then switches over to the mask man removing his mask to reveal The Weeknd with his freshly cut hair.

The dark clip also saw Weeknd trashing his house including smashing up his platinum plaque and his trophies with a large neon cross before burning his house down to the ground. He also did the robot dance and sings about his wealth, women, and cars while watching his house burn.

Abel then drove off into the night with a black cat in his car then transformed into a panther.
