Drake was not joking when he hinted he spent money on Young Thug’s trial.

The Canadian rapper allegedly flew to Atlanta via his private jet within hours of Young Thug’s release from jail last month and gifted him $1 million, DJ Akademiks revealed. The streamer has become the Drake whisperer, given he seems to always be in the know about all things related to the OVO rapper. So whenever he broke news about the “God’s Plan” artist it usually carried enough weight for everyone to take notice.

Speaking on his Twitch stream recently, DJ Akademiks claimed that Drake hopped on his private jet, and within two hours he was visiting Young Thug. “Y’all want to hear this play I heard?” AK said. “Watch, he gon’ hit me up, like, ‘Yo, how you heard?’ ‘Cause he ain’t tell me. That’s my mans. When Thug gets let out of jail, the talk is this. They say two hours afterward, Drake flew to Thug and allegedly gave him a mil.”

Akademiks says he didn’t hear the news directly from Drake, so he is expected to get a call about it shortly. It’s unclear if he did get that call, but perhaps Drizzy will move to keep a lid on the folks around him. “Drake didn’t tell me this. Drake gon’ hit me up and be, like, ‘Who told you this?’” he added.

Drake and Young Thug’s camp have not confirmed what DJ Akademiks said. Thugger has been getting a lot of visits from rappers since his release, including from T.I. and other Atlanta-based artists. The issue even upset his father, who recently suggested that he is getting a lot of fake love from rappers since his release.

In the meantime, Young Thug raised eyebrows over the weekend when a message was posted on his X account aimed at Gunna. The “Good Times” rapper publicly stated that he and his former collaborator are not friends and that Wunna should stop acting like they are. The message has since been deleted, but it was enough to leave everyone stunned.
