Kodak Black is officially a free man.
The “Tunnel Vision” rapper walked out of a Broward County jail moments after midnight on Saturday (August 18) morning. Urban Islandz reported earlier this week that Kodak Black would be released from jail sometime this week, and sources close to the Pompano Beach rapper confirmed with us that he was processed and let out of jail just moments again. You can view the first photos of the rapper leaving jail below.
Kodak Black spend eight months in jail for probation violation. The controversial emcee was sentenced to one year behind bars but was credited for time served after his attorney filed a motion to have him credited with a few months of time already served. A Broward County judge approved the motion, and the Sheriff office updated his release date to August 18.
Project Baby was arrested in January following an Instagram Live session that resulted in one of his fans calling the cops. Some fans noticed drugs and gun in his Instagram Live video within close proximity to a baby. His IG Live was still rolling when cops barged into his residence and arrested him and his crew.
Kodak was charged with grand theft of a firearm, marijuana possession, child endangerment, and probation violation. His legal team fought to have the more serious charges dismissed and won, but he was sent to jail for probation violation. The rapper is now free, but he is still on probation, which means if he gets into any more trouble, he will be back behind bars possibly for a longer term.
Kodak Black is already prepping his fans for new music. Two weeks ago he revealed on Twitter that he would be dropping some new music as soon as he is released from prison. We will be watching closely to see if he will drop a new song or a new project this weekend or in the coming week.
