Diddy is back in court again, and this time, it is much different because the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The Diddy sex trafficking trial begins on Monday, May 5, with jury selection as both sides battle it out to select the panel of jury who will decide the rap mogul’s fate. TMZ reported that Diddy told the judge that he was feeling the nerves as he settled in court on Monday morning.
The Bad Boy Records founder requested a bathroom break at around 90 minutes into the jury selection proceeding. “I’m sorry your honor, I’m a little nervous today,” he told the judge. The judge resisted at first to grant the billionaire the bathroom break but then ruled for him to relieve himself after he said he was nervous.
The first day of court went well, with the judge grilling potential jurors to narrow down the significant number. The judge shared that he is hoping to wrap jury selection in three days, which would be by the end of the day on Wednesday.
The first day of jury selection wasn’t without its fair share of courtroom theatrics. Some jurors told the judge that they heard about Diddy’s infamous sex parties on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Despite the admission, the potential jurors were not excluded from serving, but that doesn’t mean they will be selected.
Jurors were also asked if sexually explicit content would be too much for them to hear and watch. Some were asked about domestic violence and other similar topics and whether or not they can be “fair and impartial” in the case.

Diddy is on trial for sex trafficking, kidnapping, and racketeering, all charges that could see him spend decades in prison if convicted, hence why the judge is taking great consideration in selecting the jury. The judge also announced there are no plans to sequester the jury.
Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges and reportedly declined a plea deal.
