Young Thug’s girlfriend Mariah The Scientist comes clean about her past relationship with Lil Yachty after previously denying it.
Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist’s love story is well documented with the incarcerated rapper as recently as this week showing love to his girlfriend in court. However, her past relationship with Lil Yachty has now come to the forefront thanks to some hot questions from Yung Miami during the R&B singer appearance on Caresha Please podcast.
Mariah and Yachty have been hounded for years about their alleged relationship with the R&B singer previously denying that they ever were an item in 2022. Last year the singer and the rapper clashed on social media over the dating rumors which resulted in the Atlanta rapper denying the allegations calling it a “false narrative.”
While appearing on Caresha Please, Mariah The Scientist was asked to clear up the rumors about dating Lil Yachty. Despite being reluctant to speak on the topic at first, she gets candid about the past relationship and even shared that she wrote two songs for the rapper.
“We dated. The story goes like this, I was in college,” Mariah shared while hinting that they drifted apart when the rapper’s career blew up. “I met him in high school, though by the time I got to college we started dating a little bit or whatever and I felt his career was taking off and he had all these things… I didn’t know what to do, like, or what I could give him, ’cause I was just a broke college student.”
Mariah also shared that she gave Lil Yachty two songs on an iPod and he didn’t want to listen to them. “So I thought, ‘Well, he likes music, I like music, let me make him a song,'” she said. “And so that’s what I did, I made him two different songs and I put them on the iPod and I gifted it to him. I signed the back, it was real cute. He said, ‘I don’t want to Joan you, so I’m not listening to that shit.’ And ‘Joan’ means, rank… shit on you. At the time, I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.”
Mariah The Scientist then shared that she was encouraged by two of her friends to pursue music after listening to the songs. Despite being reluctant at first, she decided to give it a shot and the rest is history. Mariah and Young Thug have been dating since around 2021 and have grown closer over the years. This week he wore a sweater to court with a message that reads “I [heart] Mariah.”
