The female friend of recently indicted R&B singer R. Kelly who paid his bond earlier this year in February is reportedly demanding her money back.

The 47-year-old woman named Valencia Love is from Romeoville, Illinois. She was previously reluctant to state whether the 10% she paid towards R. Kelly‘s $1 million bail was her money or Kelly’s. Love said in a statement earlier this year that “He was going to get out regardless,” she revaled, “I just went out there to help my friend.” The woman continues, “I’m not going to say it was my money or his and he’s not broke,” she defended.

Love reportedly wants her money back now that R. Kelly has been indicted by the feds, after paying $100,000 to free the singer following his arrest on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Her demands are somewhat bewildering considering the transparency of this case – she was very much aware of the charges and knew exactly what she was doing. According to Sun Times reporters, “Judge now hearing from attorney representing Valencia Love, who met R Kelly on a Lake Michigan boat cruise and later posted 100k for his bond, buying his freedom until he was arrested on federal charges — she wants her money back.”

The woman who was described in court documents as a “friend” of the accused, received a lot of backlash after paying four installments of $25,000 to have the singer released from Cook County State jail two nights after he turned himself in. Love reportedly owns several businesses as well as the Lord and Child Christian Day Care. Many found the irony of an accused child sexual abuser being parachuted to safety by a childcare worker to be rather peculiar.

The matter is not yet settled, so it’s still unknown if she will actually be successful in getting her money back. As of now, R. Kelly is set to appear in court for another hearing set for Wednesday, September 18th.
