Quavo says Sweden police are “tough” and they’ve hemmed him up in the past too, after being asked would he stop having shows there in the wake of ASAP Rocky’s arrest.
TMZ caught up with Quavo, one-third of the Migos rap trio, and asked would he ban shows in Sweden because of how their law enforcement is treating ASAP Rocky.
“I’m going to tell y’all one secret. I don’t even like talking to people or TMZ. But Sweden had us down on the curb,” the rapper told TMZ early Wednesday morning. “As soon as we went to Sweden, they had me and my cameraman on the curb and they was trying to lock us up too. They ended up letting us go. It is what it is, but Sweden real tough.”
Quavo said he would think twice before traveling to the foreign country for a show again after reports came out that ASAP Rocky is being held in a Swedish jail facing inhumane conditions. The Harlem rapper was arrested after a street fight with an aggressive fan who followed him around and hit his security guard in the head with an earphone. The events leading up to the fight, as well as, the altercation that landed him in jail were caught camera.
“I don’t know if I might do it. Free my boy Rocky,” Quavo said.
Quavo joins a list of rappers and artists who have spoken out in support of ASAP Rocky. Last week, Tyga announced he was canceling his Sweden show following a call from Tyler the Creator, ScHoolboy Q, and T.I. to put Sweden on the “no go” list until ASAP Rocky’s case was settled.
