50 Cent wasn’t joking when he said that Rotimi owes him money.
The G-Unit rapper collected $100,000 from a $300,000 debt from his Power cast member Rotimi yesterday and immediately went and purchased some high priced jewelry. After the singer revealed that he has the number one R&B album in the country, 50 Cent fired off a post on Instagram asking for his money. Rotimi initially released a video saying that he doesn’t owe Fifty any money, but then he suddenly forked over one hundred thousand dollars, so clearly he might’ve have not known at the time that he was indebted to the rap titan.
50 Cent posted a video on Instagram of himself buying jewelry with the cash that he collected from Rotimi, and it wasn’t any cheap bling. The watch alone cost $145,000, and then there was an iced out custom 50 Cent that cost over a hundred grand.
In his interview with TMZ, Rotimi admitted that he owes Fifty some money and paid him a portion and will pay him the rest when his royalty checks start rolling in. The singer said he had signed a deal with G-Unit back in 2014 and had asked 50 Cent to get out of the deal following a disagreement over his song “Love Riddim” which is featured on his new album Walk With Me.
“So I asked him, ‘Can I get out of my deal?'” Rotimi said. “He said, ‘Yes I’m not going to hold you back. But there’s business.’ I paid an upfront sum (to get out of my contract) and everything else would be through mechanical sales or royalty and everything.”
Rotimi added that he and 50 Cent are still good and that the rapper/actor may just be in a bad mood when he called him out on social media. Fif also posted a clip from the interview on his Instagram. “I have no problem with @Rotimi in fact I wish him and his family the best God bless. POSITIVE VIBES,” he wrote.
