Rapper YNW Melly is insisting that he did not kill two of his friends.

The Florida MC, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, was denied bond last week when he appeared before a judge for his arraignment. The 19-year-old rapper was arrested after turning himself into the Miramar police and slapped with a double murder charge. Miramar PD says YNW Melly and another of his associates murdered two of their friends on October 26, 2018.

Cops say that Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. were shot several times by the rapper and another man name Cortlen Henry and then the two staged the murder scene to resemble a drive-by shooting. Sources say Melly vehemently denied the claims saying that he was very close friends with Williams and Thomas and is deeply saddened by their death.

“To all my fans and supporters no I did not get locked up in Washington, but I am turning myself in today I want you guys to know I love you and appreciate every single one of y’all, a couple months ago I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system want to find justice,” Melly wrote on Instagram.

“Unfortunately a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries god is with me and my brother @ynw.bortlen and we want y’all to remember it’s a ynw Family I love you @ynwsakchaser1 and @ynwjuvy #freeus,” he continues.

If convicted for the murders, YNW Melly could be sent to prison for life.
