Lil Wayne has announced the release date for his long-awaited album “Tha Carter V.”

Lil Wayne says “The Carter V” aka C5 is coming on his birthday, this Thursday, September 27th at midnight. Tunechi posted a video on YouTube explaining why some confusions were surrounding the release of his album. “Message to the world, to all my fans, to all my supporters,” he said. “I heard that there was a misunderstanding about the release date of Tha CV. I heard y’all got a little mixed up and Y’all thought it was being released like last week or something.”

Lil Wayne then sent fans into a frenzy when he told them that he would be dropping the new album on Thursday, September 27th, at midnight. “Well I would like for y’all to know that since Y’all stuck with me for like the last four or five years, through all of this, Y’all got me feeling like Tiger Woods with this comeback,” Weezy added. “On my birthday, I actually have something special. I will be releasing Tha Carter V on my birthday. Now, if you don’t know when my birthday is, Wikipedia does. Wiki me bish.”

Finally, we have an official release date for “Tha Carter V,” and you heard it straight out of Lil Wayne’s mouth, so there will be no more misunderstandings. C5 has been in the works since 2012, but some legal troubles between Wayne and Cash Money Records have prevented the release of the album for years.

The New Orleans rapper and his former mentor, Birdman, have now reached a settlement in their ongoing lawsuit, and that’s how the oft-delayed album will finally see the light of day. Last week, an unofficial tracklist surfaced online, but Weezy has not commented on it. Stay tuned to Urban Islandz throughout this week for more updates on “Tha Carter V.”
