Munga Gets No Bail Murder Case Pushed Back To June 21

Munga Honorable will be spending at least two more weeks in jail before knowing if he will be getting bail.

The dancehall deejay appeared in court with his lawyer today where the judge pushed back the case to June 21. Sources told us that the artist is frustrated with the delays in getting bail. His attorney, Christopher Townsend, revealed that the judge did not grant his client bail because of the freshness of the murder charges brought against him.

“The judge was unable to hear a bail application because the matter is new before her,” Townsend said. “She just received the preliminary report, which gives an indication of the allegations against him.” Munga, whose real name is Damian Rhoden, is currently facing life imprisonment if convicted for the murder of Cleveland Smith who was shot and killed at a party in Ackee Walk, St. Andrew last month.

Munga has maintained his innocence and the murder victim is also the nephew of fellow dancehall star Mr. Vegas. Smith was accused of attacking and chopping Munga several times back in 2015. Cops sees that incident as a motive for the killing.
