The Cash Money CEO stopped by Travis Scott .wav radio show on Beats 1 on Apple Music yesterday where he gave a firm answer on whether or not Carter V will be released as an album. “Carter V coming out,” Birdman said when Scott asked him about the status of the album. “It’s definitely coming out. The situation with me and my son, bruh — I’ma put all of that behind us and just let it move forward.”
Lil Wayne hinted three new projects including Carter V coming soon.
Lil Wayne and Birdman might have been working things out behind the scenes because on Tuesday this week the Young Money rapper hinted that he has three new projects in the works that are coming soon and one of them is Tha Carter V. The other two projects are Funeral and Dedication 6. It’s not clear if those two will be full length LPs or just singles but he definitely noted Carter V as one of his upcoming releases.
The album Tha Carter V has been in the works since 2012 and Weezy confirmed on numerous ocassions that the project is complete. In December 2014, Lil Wayne went on a surprised Twitter rant against his label Cash Money Records and Birdman telling his fans that they are holding the album hostage and holding him hostage. A few months later he filed a $51 million lawsuit against his former mentor who was also like a father figure to him. They have yet to reconcile, but this is another sign that they can still make peace.
