Drake created history with an unprecedented 13 nominations at the 2016 American Music Awards.
Whats even more shocking is that the 6 God has never won a AMAs award but he will surely make up that last ground on November 20. The record for the most nominations was previously held by Michael Jackson who received 11 nods in 1984.
Among the categories that he received noms for includes Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, and two noms for Collaboration of the Year for “One Dance” and “Work.” Drizzy also received a nomination for Favorite Song — Rap/Hip-Hop for his smash hit “Hotline Bling.”

Drake girlfriend Rihanna is also going into the awards with several nominations. His “Work” collaborator received seven nods ahead of Justin Bieber and Adele who came in with five nods apiece. Beyonce received four nods after having a great year with her latest album Lemonade and her hugely successful Formation World Tour which concluded in New Jersey last weekend.
Drake will be facing some stiff competition for the Artist of the Year category with some big names like Beyonce, Adele, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and more competing for the covetous trophy.
The 2016 American Music Awards will aired live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 20 at 8 PM EST.
It’s Drake season after all.
