Travis Scott Celebrates First No. 1 Album ‘Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight’

Travis Scott is feeling good right now after scoring his first ever No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with “Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight.”

Scott released the album last week around much fan fare and although it didn’t pull in the numbers that other big projects did this year like Views, Life of Pablo, and ANTI, it still manages to debut at the top of the most recognized chart in the world.

The album “BITTSM” sold 88,000 equivalent album units with 53,000 being pure album sales and the rest from streaming. The album was streamed 50 million times on Apple Music in its first week of release. This marks the highest charting album from the Houston emcee and his first No. 1. His 2015 album “Rodeo” sold 85,000 copies in its first week but peaked at No. 3 on the 200 chart.

“My first number 1 album thus means alot to me ! U kids and fans are the realest. I owe yall more than life,” Travis Scott tweeted on Sunday.

Travis Scott is also celebrating a new worldwide publishing deal with Grand Hustle Publishing/Universal Music Publishing Group, Billboard reported.

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200 chart this week, Drake “Views” album is still holding its own at No. 3 on the chart with 60,000 copies sold in the last week. Rihanna’s “ANTI,” Beyonce’s “Lemonade,” and “Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” are at No. 8, 9, and 10 respectively.
