Dancehall’s dominant female, Ishawna, signed to mega label Downsound Records, has come out in full defense of comments made by Dancehall Selector Foota Hype with a single called ‘Social Media Hot.
In a recent interview on Jamaican Television, the selector referred to the Dancehall trendsetter Ishawna as ‘Social Media Hot’ when asked who was “hot” in the industry right now.

In the single released this week, Ishawna took the time to thank all her social media fans for their support as she believes they contribute to her consistent success. Success evident in her numerous nominations at this year’s Youth View Awards.
The Dancehall fashion trendsetter has been nominated for the second year in a row as ‘Fashion Icon of the year’ and also has been nominated in three additional categories; Favorite Local Female Artist, Young Hot & Hype Female and Favorite Musical Collaboration for the single Answer Me featuring Masicka.
The raunchy beauty is very excited about her various nominations especially her fashion icon nod.
“It always great to be nominated because it shows the fans are interested in my style and recognize my talent, at the end of the day they are the ones that matter” Ishawna shared.
In the single ‘Social Media Hot’ Ishawna also refers to radio DJ Nikki Z as a hypocrite for her blind support of Foota Hype and insinuates that Foota Hype’s comments are based on their past relationship rather than facts.
Ishawna is now focusing on recording new material as well as shooting the official video for her single ‘Ooh La La’ in the coming weeks. Singles ‘Long Fingernail’ and ‘School Gyal’ have also received great feedback and rotation thus far.
Ishawna is also set to perform at the BritJam Festival on March 11 in Montego Bay before gearing up for a European stint in May.
Ishawna is hot(looks) with mediocre music.
