Nicki Minaj The PinkPrint Debut No. 2 With 244K Copies Sold In First Week

Nicki Minaj new album The PinkPrint debut at No. 2 on Billboard 200 album chart after selling 244,000 copies in its first week.

There were a lot of hype surrounding the release of The PinkPrint with Nicki Minaj showing a more vulnerable side on the 19-track project.

The initial sales projection was set at 150,000 in its first week, but the album eventually did much better.

In the week of the album release, the Young Money rapper appeared on numerous shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Reel, ESPN SportsCenter and Ellen Degeneres. That clearly helped to push the album sales.

Taylor Swift’s 1989 album regained the top spot after seeing another spike in sales moving 375,000 copies in that week.

J. Cole’s album Forest Hill Drive slipped to fourth but still seeing strong sales with 135,000 copies sold that week.
