Rihanna’s 7th studio album Unapologetic knocked boy band One Direction off the number one spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart.

Lead by the number one single “Diamonds,” Unapologetic sold 238,000 copies in its first week of release according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Rihanna’s previous albums Good Girl Gone Bad peaked at No. 2, while her 2011 album Talk That Talk peaked at No. 3.

Country star Taylor Swift came in at No. 2 with her fourth album Red. One Direction’s “Take Me Home” slips from first place to No. 3. Phillip Phillips debut album “The World From the Side of the Moon” came in a No. 4. While Detroit rap-rocker Kid Rock’s “Rebel Soul” rounds out the top 5.

Rihanna is getting ready to hit the road for her upcoming Diamond World Tour. She kicks things off in March 2013 in Bufalo, New York.
