Nicki Minaj OFFICIALLY An American Idol Judge, Deal Closed

After weeks of speculations that Nicki Minaj will be sitting in one of the judges chairs on the new season of American Idol, Fox confirmed that the deal is now closed.

Fox, the shows producer, made the announcement on Sunday (September 16), confirming that Nicki Minaj and country star Keith Urban will be joining the show as judges.

The Young Money rapper will take a seat beside music icon Mariah Carey, who was the first new judge to be confirmed for the show this year. Randy Jackson will also return to the show.

“It’s official, your new #IdolJudges are @MariahCarey, @NickiMinaj, @KeithUrban & @Yo_RandyJackson!” American Idol host Ryan Seacrest tweeted earlier today.

“Everyone gave a heartfelt toast about being on the show after we ate last night. Cant wait to see the first contestants today,” Seacrest added.

Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban salary has not yet been revealed, however, Mariah Carey is reportedly banking $17 million per season.

Audition for the 12th season of American Idol gets underway today in New York. The show starts hearing in January 2013.
