Dancehall royalty Lady Saw will join the ranks of some of the most iconic dancehall stars to be honored by Reggae Sumfest organizers over the last few years.
Similar to Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, Summerfest Productions will be rolling out the red carpet for the dancehall diva, who is hail as the reigning queen of dancehall.
“Sumfest is pleased to showcase the hottest female acts in the Jamaican music industry right now,” said Johnny Gourzong, head of Summerfest Productions.
“Among the hottest females on the line-up is Grammy award-winning artiste, Lady Saw, a true representative of the dancehall genre and, for this, she will be honored at the 20th staging of the festival,” Gourzong added.
Lady Saw is the first female act to be honored at Reggae Sumfest, however, she certainly won’t be the last as more female dancehall artists are making their mark on the genre.
Reggae Sumfest will be held at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bat from July 15 – 21.
