Michael Rainer Jr. bid Power fans farewell in a heartfelt message following the Power Book II: Ghost season finale last weekend.

The Power universe is now one of the most successful TV franchise series in history and now one of its spinoff shows has pulled the curtains after four seasons. Unlike the original Power series, the Book II franchise ended without the main protagonist being killed as Tariq St. Patrick cemented himself as the new drug kingpin in town after all of his enemies were either killed or in prison.

In a heartfelt message to his fans on social media, Michael Rainey Jr. thanked his fellow castmates and crew for putting together one of the best shows in television history.

“10 years of Tariq,” the actor wrote. “A huge thank you to the crew, writers, production, @starz, Lionsgate, and of course, the fans. Lastly, a heartfelt shoutout to all the amazing actors I worked with. The show is a product of our collective effort. Love you all and wish you all nothing but the best.”

Rainey Jr. also thanked Power creators 50 Cent and Courtney Kemp for trusting him with the role of Tariq St. Patrick. “Thank you @50cent and @courtneyakemp for trusting me to portray Tariq,” he added.

Michael Rainer Jr. was fourteen years old when he was cast as Tasha and Jamie St. Patrick’s son. We watched the young actor grow up right in front of our eyes into one of the most promising young actors in Hollywood.

Over the four seasons of Power Book II: Ghost, Tariq went through many ups and downs and even had relationships with Effie (Alix Lapri) and Lauren (Paige Hurd). He also found himself in the line of fire from several enemies including his father’s former close confidant Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), who also has his own spinoff show, Power Book IV: Force.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rainey Jr. describes the Power and Ghost’s legacy as “Iconic.”

“Iconic. One of the greatest TV shows in history,” he shared. “Not just TV show, but one of the greatest TV show franchises with four successful spinoffs. Not a lot of TV shows can say that they’ve done that. It’s crazy. It’s definitely a huge accomplishment, especially when you have something like Power that was so big, especially at the time. It’s huge shoes to fill. Three to four different shows, that’s tough. It’s definitely a great feeling to be a part of an iconic franchise. It’s legendary.”
