The Starbucks coffee cup spotted on a table in front of Daenerys disappeared into the long night.
HBO has confirmed that the modern day cup was edited out of the scene from last week’s episode of Game of Thrones. Millions of viewers spotted the cup in the celebratory scene from season 8 episode 4, “The Last Of The Starks.” Fans roasted GOT producers for making such a crucial mistake, and the show owned up to it and made light of it on Twitter.
“News from Winterfell. The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” GOT official Twitter page tweeted on Monday.

Twitter was flooded with memes making light of the situation which was extensively covered in mainstream media. While it was a major gaffe from the show’s producers, it ended up benefiting them in the form of free press, because everyone is talking about it.
HBO has since used the magic of digital editing to remove the Starbucks cup so you will not see it if you watch the episode going forward.
