French Montana Announces ‘Montana’ Album Release Date While Still In Hospital

French Montana just announced a new project while he recovers from his mysterious illness.

French Montana remains in recovery after a mysterious illness placed him in the Intensive Care Unit for nine whole days. On Nov. 21, the “Unforgettable” rapper was rushed to San Fernando Hospital from his Calabasas home after complaints of nausea, stomach pain, and an increased heart rate. But on Thanksgiving, he updated fans with some good news that he was out of the ICU and in a recovery unit, but that’s not where the good news ended. On Tuesday, French Montana announced his new album will be dropping this Friday.

The 35-year-old Moroccan native posted a photo of himself doing push-ups in the hospital Tuesday evening and assured fans that his new album Montana will be here soon. “CANT KEEP ME DOWN !!,” he wrote. “Been workin hard on my new album and I’m so proud to announce it’s coming THIS FRIDAY !!! #MONTANA The music is keepin my spirit alive. THANK YOU to my fans, love y’all for ridin with me thru this journey.”

Fans and industry friends rushed to his comments to continue sending him well wishes. It is still unclear his diagnosis or the exact condition that landed him in the hospital, but the rapper has said he is getting better by the day. TMZ reported that French had been traveling out of the country for several weeks before becoming ill. Montana has been much anticipated following his last album Jungle’s Rules in 2017 that featured his hit song “Unforgettable” ft. Swae Lee. The tracklist has yet to be released.
