Chance The Rapper is officially father and husband of the year.
The “Slide Around” rapper recently broke the news on his Instagram page that he will be postponing his “Big Day” tour to attend to his fatherly duties and his wife as she recently gave birth to their second child. Kirsten posted a photo of the newborn’s arrival on September 6 on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Our sweet baby girl, Marli, is here.” Baby Marli is the second child for Chance The Rapper and his wife. The couple also has a 4-year-old daughter named Kensli.
On September 9, the rapper posted a photo of him holding his newborn baby girl while hugging Kensli, his older daughter. He captioned the post with this sweet, touching and inspiring message, “I thought it over for the past week, and I’ve decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work. When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”
Chance The Rapper rapper apologizes to his fans for the inconvenience. “I apologize because I know how many people were counting on seeing me soon, but I hope you’ll understand and forgive me in time. Tour kicks off January 15 and you can still get tix or your refund if you are unavailable at chanceraps.com & a few of the shows are still being rescheduled as well so stay tuned. I love you guys AND LITERALLY CANT WAIT FOR U TO WITNESS THIS SHOW SIDENOTE: 9/28 CHICAGO AT UNITED CENTER IS STILL ON AS WELL AS “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL FEST” “IHEART MUSIC FEST” & “MIAMI BEACH POP FEST.”
It has surely been an eventful year for the Chicago rapper with the birth of baby Marli, and his marriage that took place on March 9, 2019. His debut album, The Big Day also charted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart based off its first-week album sales, since dropping on July 26. His tour was announced on Instagram on July 29 and was slated to kick off on September 14 in San Francisco. Although fans are disappointed, they are completely in support of the rapper’s incredible but difficult decision.
One fan commented, “TRYNA BE AS GOOD OF A DAD AS YOU ONE DAY!” Another fan added, “we understand we proud of you and most importantly CONGRATS!!!” While another stated, “As hard as I’m sure it was, you’ll look back on this as one of the best decisions of your life. Sending love to you and the fam. Everyone will be more than ready for you when you’re ready to step back out on the road. Blessings and love”
We share the sentiments of all his fans. A big day requires big decisions. Best of luck to him.
