Chance the Rapper is hitting the road for “The Big Day” tour.
Chance the Rapper dropped his official debut “owbum” last Friday titled The Big Day, and it was only a matter of time before he took the project on tour. And that matter of time was slim. The Chicago rapper/songwriter announced the nationwide tour via Instagram Monday afternoon with 35 cities. The tour starts at San Francisco on September 14 and ends in Miami two months later on November 10.
While this project is Chance’s first album that he officially put up for sale, he has already released three free projects. Despite the album only been out for a few days, fans and critics are giving “The Big Day” mixed reviews. It was tough to follow up behind Chano’s Grammy Award-winning mixtape, Coloring Book. Slate said that his latest effort fell short of that project’s greatness.
The 22-track album may have been a bit much and covers a broad range of topics without a real central focus to the project, Slate said. The album includes many features from artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Timbaland, Gucci Mane, and Nicki Minaj.
Nonetheless, Chance’s fanbase is strong and The Big Day is expected to sell 90k-100k copies the first week. So it’s very likely that he will have no problem selling tickets to his upcoming tour.
Tickets go on sale Friday on Chanceraps.com.
