Charlamagne Tha God is experiencing some fallout over some damning R. Kelly tweets.
R. Kelly is a toxic person these days and even if you don’t support him now and use to support him in the past, you run the risk of getting canceled. Back in 2009-2010, The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God sent out some tweets about the R&B legend and they’re coming back to haunt him especially since he made an appearance in the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary.
“R. Kelly looks 20 something. The fountain of youth can clearly be found within teenage vagina,” Charlamagne wrote in one tweet. In another tweet he referenced former President Obama daughters who were underage at the time. “R. Kelly is thinking, Baracks daughters can get it,” he wrote.
The producer of “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary, dream hampton, has spoken out about the backlash saying that she regrets including Charlamagne in it. “I’m just seeing Charlamagne’s 2010 tweet tonight,” hampton said. “I interviewed him before the story abt him broke but should have cut him altogether, rather than limit his appearance. It was a huge mistake. I prob spent more time arguing to cut Bruce. Again, mistake. #SurvivingRKelly.”
I’m so thankful for you doing this, but please know that it was 3 or more tweets. pic.twitter.com/VbEyNq9eaX

Charlamagne has not responded to the backlash, but a ton of celebrities have been speaking out against R. Kelly.

Terrible decision inviting Charlamagne on this docuseries. Incredibly disappointing. He is a misogynistic abuser himself and will never represent my interests as a black woman. #SurvivingRKelly
