Ty Dolla $ign is facing up to 15 years in prison for cocaine possession.
Rapper Ty Dolla $ign was indicted in Georgia on drug charges which includes felony possession of cocaine. TMZ obtained court documents filed against the rapper/singer which shows that he was indicted on at least three counts of drug charges including felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of THC and misdemeanor possession of less than 1 ounce of weed.
Drug charges in Fulton County, Georgia are way more severe than California, so Ty Dolla $ign is staring down more than a decade in prison if tried and convicted. Ty was arrested in September when cops busted him for carrying the drugs in his bags.
Despite the seriousness of the crime, Ty Dolla $ign’s representatives are saying that his lawyer, Steve Sadow, had anticipated the indictment and is not worried. “[Ty] understands from his attorney Steve Sadow that the indictment in Fulton County, Georgia is merely the next mandatory procedural step in the process of resolving Ty’s case in that particular criminal justice system, and one more step closer to finally bringing this matter to a close. It was expected by Ty’s legal counsel and came as no surprise whatsoever,” his rep said.
The rapper’s cash and jewelry, which was seized in his arrest, were also ordered return to him, a sign that the case could be wrapped very soon, his rep said.
