Beenie Man has fans from every living generation including Lebron James daughter Zhuri.
King James wife, Savannah shared a video on Instagram Story this week of herself and the couple’s adorable daughter Zhuri James watching Beenie Man‘s music “King of the Dancehall” on her laptop. “You can’t hate on this one [Lebron James],” Savannah wrote. The Lakers star did not respond to the post, but lots of Jamaicans were making their presence felt.
Beenie Man released “King of the Dancehall” in 2004 and Zhuri James was born ten years later, in 2014. The song was produced by Tony Kelly and peaked at number eighty on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and fourteen on the UK Singles Chart.
Beenie is one of the most commercially successful artists in dancehall’s history with a lot of crossover appeal. Over his four decades career, the dancehall icon has scored a number of crossover hits that charted in the United States and Europe. He has also done collaborations with megastars like Janet Jackson, Mya, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, T.I., and more. Clearly, the Doc has at least or four generations of fans currently enjoying his timeless music.
In related Beenie Man news, the dancehall icon is a father again after his fiancee Krystal Tomlinson gave birth to a baby girl last week. The couple is rumored to be engaged, so they are now in the process of planning their wedding. In the meantime, Beenie will be on daddy duties this holiday season so don’t expect to see him a lot on stage.
