Kendrick Lamar & The Weeknd Drops “Pray For Me” From Black Panther Soundtrack

Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd joined forces once again on “Pray For Me.”

The collaboration will be featured on the upcoming Black Panther: The Album. Kendrick Lamar is executive producing the soundtrack for the upcoming motion picture. Urban Islandz reported last month that K-Dot and The Weeknd are working on a song together for Black Panther. The two previously worked together on the Toronto singer’s single “Sidewalks” featured on his album Starboy.

“Pray For Me” was produced by Matt Schaeffer, Cardo, Cubeatz, and Sounwave, and features The Weeknd belting out his signature vocals that fits right with films themed. “I’m always ready for a war again / Go down that road again / It’s all the same / I’m always ready to take a life again / You know I’ll ride again / It’s all the same,” the R&B crooner sings.

The Black Panther soundtrack is being curated by Kendrick Lamar, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, and TDE. The album will features guest appearances from 2 Chainz, Swae Lee, Future, Travis Scott, Vince Staples, Khalid, ScHoolboy Q, and more.

Black Panther is the most anticipated superhero movie this year and already it has broken pre-sale records setting it up for a box office opening weekend record. Look out for the movie in theaters on February 16.
