Rick Ross and Lil Wayne aren’t an unlikely bromance than some of us seems to think since Rozay has always been a staunch supporter of Weezy in his Birdman feud.
Thursday (March 19, 2017) was an interesting day in the friendship between Rick Ross and Lil Wayne and we hope these to big names in hip hop will serve as an example for younger artists that they too can develop friendship and allies within the hip hop space. Things started with a leaked track titled “Idols Become Rivals” where Rozay went after Birdman and defends Weezy.
The full single is currently available on iTunes/Apple Music and will appear on the MMG Bawse upcoming album Rather You Than Me. Shortly after the track surfaced online, Ross took to Instagram to share his thoughts while heaping up a lot of praises for Lil Wayne. “The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation,” Rick Ross said. “The streets need you.Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say.I can’t wait for you to hear it.Midnight. #idolsbecomerivals.”
Lil Wayne was clearly happy for the kind words from Young Renzel and had this to say on Twitter. “Dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start,” he tweeted. “I needed that. 1 boss 2 another.”
Rick Ross really went hard against Birdman on the diss track “Idols Become Rivals” rapping about being disgusted by the Cash Money honcho after coming up in the game having so much respect for him. It’s now time for Rozay and Drake to end their beef but we know that Meek Mill is still standing in the way of that although they never really have an all out beef.
