Nicki Minaj may have come out on top in her beef with Remy Ma also seeing a massive increase in her album sales.
It’s been over two years since she released her last album The Pinkprint, but Nicki Minaj has seen a resurgence in all of her previous albums. The PinkPrint made a resurgence on the Billboard 200 album charts sitting at No. 170. Her debut LP Pink Friday didn’t make a resurgence on the chart, but the album, which was released in 2010, saw an 81% jump in sales for the week ending March 9th, 2017.
Nicki Minaj dropped three singles last week Friday, “Change It,” “No Frauds,” and “Regret In Your Tears,” two of which she used to take shots at Remy Ma. So does this mean that Nicki won the beef on the merits of actual music sales? Or does this beef have to be settled in a battle rap style on stage?
The “Truffle Butter” rapper also drew attention to The PinkPrint holds the title for the longest charting female rap album of all time. The project has maintained visibility on the charts since its release which is now in its 111-week on the 200 Chart.
“Look @ God. Man I can’t make this sh*t up,” Nicki Minaj wrote on Instagram. “Just got the official word that in the last week, #ThePinkprint went up 79% in SALES & #PinkFriday (AN ALBUM I RELEASED IN 2010) went up 81% in SALES! Ok #Jesus I see u! #FunFact – #ThePinkprint holds the title as longest charting female rap album in the history of billboard. My fans are the absolute best. I love u guys so much. My new album will give you the most life you’ve ever received out of my catalogue. thank you.”
Remy Ma dropped her diss track “shETHER” after feeling like Nicki Minaj took a jab at her on Gucci Mane’s single “Make Love.” The Love and Hip Hop New York star tried to go the route that Drake took and dropped a second diss track “Another One” but that was met with harsh criticism with a lot of fans calling it weak. But Just when we thought that Nicki Minaj wasn’t going to respond, she dropped three bombshells which immediately climb to the iTunes chart.
