Coolio learned that there is no gangsta paradise when you brought a loaded gun to the airports.
The “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper was arrested at the LAX on Saturday after a loaded firearm was found in his carry-on luggage. He was booked for possession of a firearm by a felon. But that was not all, Rolling Stone reported that the gun turned out to be stolen and Coolio’s bodyguard first claimed that the weapon belong to him. But when questioned, the rapper admitted that the bag was his.
Both Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., and his bodyguard were arrested and charged for possession of a stolen and loaded gun.
Coolio was later released on bond and posted a video of himself having dinner letting his fans know that he is doing okay. “Just wanted to say something about the little misunderstanding at the airport today. Everything’s fine, I’m fine,” he said. “I don’t know what’s going to be the result of this in the future but for now, I’m fine and I appreciate everyone’s concern.”
