Police responded to a 911 call from the other man who reported that the N.W.A. rap legend pulled a gun on him. Cops who responded place Dr. Dre in handcuff before searching him. The man also filed a citizens arrest.
The Los Angeles district attorney rejected the case on Wednesday, Billboard reported. The D.A. cited lack of evidence to proceed with prosecuting Dre, whose real name is Andre Young.
Dr. Dre told deputies that he didn’t have a gun and had only pulled out his cellphone to record the argument between himself and the man. Cops found no weapon in the rapper’s possession.
