Rick Ross is currently sitting in a jail cell in Fayette County, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta awaiting his bail hearing on July 1.
The Maybach Music Group rapper was arrested at his Georgia mansion earlier this week and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping after cops say he pistol whipped one of his employees.
The problem is Rick Ross has a number of upcoming gigs including a big performance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay in July.
Organizers of the event are hoping that the rapper will make bail in time for the show.
“We are not losing any sleep over this matter right now, as we have been assured by his team that he will be in Jamaica,” Reggae Sumfest Chairman Johnny Gourzong said. “I spoke to his manager and the artiste will appear before a judge today (Thursday) and so we wait to see what will come of that. He is set to appear at the BET Awards this weekend, so we’ll be watching closely. But we are not worried based on the assurances we have received from his team.”
This is Rick Ross’ second arrest in the last month. Just two weeks ago the “Rich Forever” rapper was pulled over and taken into custody after cops found marijuana in his Rolls Royce.
