Snoop Lion manages to do what no other reggae/dancehall stars could not have done, unite two artists from the gully/gaza era of dancehall.
Speaking with Anthony Miller of ER, Snoop says he is now about peace, love and unity.
“What I like to do now is I like to bring brothers together,” Snoop said. “Let them know and understand that this is a business, its not a gang, its a business. And the only way this business is going to grow is if we work with each other… We have to treat this like a business and not be so personal, intertwine with feeling like we have to be so negative or we have to not like this person.”
Both Mavado and Popcaan also agrees with Snoop Lion’s call for unity in the business.
“We just a make it work right now we just doing it big,” Mavado said.
“Popcaan write a verse for Snoop and in the long run I got a call saying Mavado will be on it and how I feel if I would still do it and I said yes because it good for the music,” Popcaan added.
The official video for “Lighters Up” will hit your screen in the coming week.
