Konshens Teams With VP Records

Internationally acclaimed Konshens has teamed with reggae’s largest label VP Records. Konshens’ Subkonshus Music label inked an exclusive deal with the New York based label to promote his latest smash hit single “Gal A Bubble.”

Speaking with the Gleaner, Konshens says VP executives reached out to him after seeing the success of the single overseas.

“The song picked up steam in the US, after doing its rounds in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean,” Konshens said. “It grabbed VP’s attention and they reached out to me and presented a nice opportunity that was good for my career and for the success of the song, that’s basically how the deal came about.”

According to Konshens, the Subkonshus Music-produced single is hugely successful in several markets outside Jamaica, including the Caribbean, United States and Europe. VP and Subkonshus have worked out a licensing and distribution deal that will boost the artist career.

VP Records, founded in 1979 by the late Vincent “Randy” Chin and his wife Patricia Chin, is the largest independent reggae/dancehall label.

VP has over the years played a huge role in the mainstream success of artistes including Sean Paul, Beenie Man and Buju Banton.
