Nicki Minaj’s dad has spoken out about her recent allegations that he was abusive to her mother during her childhood.
In a recent television interview, Nicki Minaj said her father had anger problems and was very abusive.
“My father was abusive. We were afraid for [my mother’s] life because whenever he would have a real bad outburst, he would threaten to kill her,” Minaj told ABC’s Nightline host Juju Chang.
“I wanted to kill [my dad]. I used to wish he was dead. We were afraid for my mother’s life because whenever he would have a real bad outburst he would threaten to kill her,” she added.
According to reports by TMZ, Nicki Minaj’s father is heartbroken about the allegations and called it exaggerated.
This is what TMZ wrote:
But family sources tell TMZ, Nicki’s anecdotes are grossly exaggerated — Omar admits he had anger issues when she was a child … but insists it NEVER reached the point Nicki described in her interview.
Sources tell us, Omar never knew Nicki felt this way about him — and he’s absolutely crushed she decided to air her grievances in the media.
This is not the first time Nicki Minaj spoke out about the allegations, but it is certainly the first time her dad step forward to make a statement.

Poor Nicki. She deserves to be with me, I would treat her right every single day, and love her until the end of time. She’s my world, and I would marry her if I could.
