Luciano Bottled In Nigeria

Reggae veteran singer Luciano was stoned in Nigeria over the weekend while performing at the 2011 Rivers State Carnival “CARNIRIV” held at Liberation Stadium on Christmas Eve.

According to reports, Luciano was invited to perform at the annual event by the consultant handling the cultural festival. Shortly into his set, patrons began hurling bottles on the stage after complaining about his style of reggae music.

Shocked at what was happening, Luciano paused and asked the crowd, “What’s happening? You don’t want me?”

“I am a messenger of God. Don’t you want the message? I was in Ethiopia, they (Ethiopians) received me. I was in Gambia, they received me. Why won’t you receive your brother?,” he added.

Despite his plea more bottles was hurled at him before he left the stage.

  4. Its a shame that my brethren will treat an artist in such a hateful and hurtful manner. Not that I could remember ever listening to any of Luciano’s song, but I am aware that the dude has been around for years making and selling great songs all these while. Bro Luciano, kindly find it in your heart to forgive what my brethren did to you during your visit, and may God open better doors of more respectful opportunities to you in Jesus name. God bless u am brother.

  5. one thing i have to say is that people who don’t want to receive Rastafari message and by consequence Luciano are aimed to destruction. A so it go and have to be. Jah Bless!!!

again I believe it’s partly because of bad promotion.. you have to market and promote an artist before placing him or her before a new crowd. just because he’s gone to other part of afrika doesn’t mean nothing.. that’s not to excuse anyone from bad behavior but we must look at all the dynamics… bless
