Embattled rapper DMX joined the likes of T.I. and Ja Rule as the latest rapper to be sentenced to an extensive amount of time behind bars.
DMX, who was arrested for a probation violation in Arizona last month, was sentenced to a year in prison on the charge yesterday morning — his sixth stint behind bars in the state.
The MC said late last month that a sip of alcohol during one of his concerts led to his arrest on multiple charges, including probation violation, failure to submit to drug testing and several drug charges.
DMX had already served two prison terms in 2010, and this will make the second consecutive year he has spent significant time behind bars. The former platinum-selling emcee has been arrested five times since August of 2007.
