Public Viewing Of Gregory Isaacs’s Body Today

Jamaicans and other fans of the late reggae legend Gregory Isaacs, will converge on Kingston today to get a final glimse of the Cool Ruler’s body.

Isaacs body will be on display at the National Indoor Sports centre in Kingston from 11 Am to 3 PM today. Yesterday the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture release a statement to the media that also states that Condolence books with be open for the Reggae icon.

The body will travel from Madden’s Funeral Home in downtown Kingston and will pass through the Fletcher’s Land community – where Gregory was born and raised – on its way to the centre. There will be no stops along the way.

The small procession will depart the funeral home at 9:45 am.

The route:

  • From Rose Lane, left onto Charles Street;

  • Right onto West Street;

  • Left onto Beeston Street;

  • Left onto Orange Street;

  • Right onto Bowery Road;

  • Right onto King Street;

  • Left onto Garrick Lane;

  • Left onto Love Lane;

  • Right onto New North Street towards National Heroes Circle; and

  • Marescaux Road toward National Indoor Sports Centre.

Members of the public who want to honour Gregory Isaacs can gather along the procession route.

Last evening several Reggae artists performed at a free tribute concert at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
