Nicki Minaj performed in Angola last weekend despite strong protest from Human Rights Group.
Nicki was reportedly paid a large sum of cash to perform at the Show Unitel Boas Festas, a Christmas festival held in Luanda, the capital of Angola. But she met some strong opposition from The Human Rights Foundation (HRF), who accused her of performing for a dictator.
The rights group claimed that Jose Eduardo dos Santos is a vicious tyrant who seized power in Angola in 1979 and has oppressed its people ever since.
“Jose Eduardo dos Santos has ruled Angola since seizing power in the fall of 1979. A cunning tyrant, dos Santos survived a legacy of colonialism and devastating civil war to consolidate control over the presidency, military, and judicial system, all while crushing independent journalism and civil society,” HRF wrote on their website.
Clearly Nicki Minaj has a ton of fans in Angola. She was met by a huge crowd when she arrived at the airport and saw a massive turn out at her concert.
