Pitbull Drops Dancehall Heavy Album “Climate Change” (Listen)

Pitbull released his new album Climate Change which was heavily influenced by dancehall.

Rappers doing dancehall albums is a big thing these days made popular by Drake last year when he released his landmark project Views. Climate Change was released last week Friday under RCA Records and has been doing very well ever since. The 12-track project features guest appearances from Stephen Marley, Jennifer Lopez, Jason Derulo, R. Kelly, Ty Dolla $ign, Flo Rida, Robin Thicke, Travis Barker and others.

Stephen Marley is featured on the single “Options” a track that has been getting a lot of attention among reggae fans. R. Kelly and Austin Mahone are both featured on the single “Dedicate,” while Jason Derulo was tapped for “Educate Ya.” Most of the singles on the project like “Sexy Body” featuring Jennifer Lopez was recorded over a dancehall heavy beat. That track samples dancehall singer Sasha’s “Dat Sexy Body” which was produced by Tony Kelly.

Pitbull, who is from Cuban descent, is a big fan of dancehall music and has in the past dabbles in the genre. Stream the album “Climate Change” on iTunes/Apple Music below.
