J. Cole Says XXXTentacion Is “Actually Talented”

J. Cole is a fan of XXXTentacion and thinks that he is “actually talented.”

XXXTentacion is one of the fastest rising young rappers in the game over the last year thanks to his breakout hit “Look At Me.” Despite his success on the charts, a lot of hip hop fans sees him as another whack rapper, but there is an overwhelming amount of rap fans who followed his music. During a rare interview with No Jumper at Adam 22’s OnSomeSh*t clothing store in Los Angeles. We don’t hear from Cole very often so it’s always good to get his perspective.

During the 30-minute talk, J. Cole says he went through a little period of blackout from hip hop and as a result, he only discovered XXXTentacion last year when the Lauderhill rapper got knocked out on stage by a rival rapper. “I found out about it last year, cuz I was so disconnected for so long to what was going on,” he said. “I been doing this sh*t for so long I’ve been rapping since I was twelve and making beats since I was fifteen and it took a lot to get from this point to that point so I got a little jaded… Last year, when the kid got punched onstage, it was clearly big enough to come to my realm. That leads me to hear some of his sh*t. I was like, ‘Damn. This ni**a’s actually talented.’”

That sentiment from J. Cole will surely resonate with XXXTentacion who has been working hard for months to convince hip hop that he has something significant to bring to the table. Cole is one of those rap elites who is always mentioned in the top five greatest of all-time debate so when he speaks everyone tune in.

During the interview, he also spoke about god and how he once questioned his own beliefs and how that helped him to become the person that he is today.
